The word “nugu” in Korean literally means “who?”, and in the K-pop world it’s often used to describe artists or groups who never had a big breakthrough in popularity, the ones who remain a little under the radar compared to the major names.
That’s exactly the spirit behind this playlist: collecting the songs I like from groups or soloists who don’t have enough tracks to deserve a personal playlist of their own. It doesn’t mean they’re less talented or less worthy, they just haven’t received the recognition I think they deserve yet.
Within the NUGU KPOP PLAYLIST, you might also find songs from more popular groups, but only if I’ve enjoyed just one or two of their tracks and I’m still “waiting” to see if they’ll eventually earn their own dedicated playlist.
This way, I can keep everything organized without flooding my Spotify with too many playlists that would be hard to manage, while also giving a special spot to those “orphan” songs I still want to replay.
In short, it’s a collection born out of curiosity, order, and love for K-pop music — even the kind that doesn’t always shine in the spotlight.
